Anyone able to complete the 5k under 30 minutes has the opportunity continue on to run the 10k race and receive USATF Grand Prix points for both races for one fee! There will be separate awards for Double Race Challenge winners. (Note: All athletes are welcome; this is not a USATF-exclusive event.) There are also races for children ages 2-10 and a 1 mile walk for all of our beloved walkers. Whether you trot, sprint, walk, or cheer, we hope to see you out there in September! 100% of funds raised through the Trek Against Trafficking will go to Love True in their mission of ending sex trafficking through prevention and restoration. LOVE TRUE AND DOUGHNUTS? NOT TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!

We are currently recruiting runners to participate in The Baker's Dozen Half Marathon, happening in Montclair, NJ on March 25, 2017. Team Love True is our charity racing team where individuals use their training and racing as a platform to raise funds and awareness for Love True.

Here’s how it works:

  • What you do: You commit to training for and running The Baker’s Dozen Half in March while fundraising for Love True on teams of 4.

  • What you get: If you and 3 other people (either 3 of your own friends, or 3 new friends we find for you!) raise $1,000 as a team, The Baker’s Dozen will refund your entry fees in full - $95 a person! All fundraising for Love True is done directly through our Crowdrise event page.

  • Even MORE things you get: All race registrants will get a half-zip, long sleeve running shirt. In addition, technical hats and of course DOUGHNUTS will be waiting for all finishers at the end!

  • What you need to do: Ready to run for doughnuts and fight trafficking at the same time? Set your alarms for January 1, 2017 at 8am when registration for The Baker’s Dozen Half Marathon opens. This race WILL sell out and participating is dependent on your registering! Registration will open here: https://runsignup.com/Race/NJ/Montclair/TheBakersDozen

  • What you also need to do: Fill out this form to start working with our coach in creating a training plan to get you closer to that finish line! Charity teams for this race are limited to the first 25 total, so let us know ASAP if you can participate!

  • What you ALSO get: A personalized training plan from our nationally certified running coach, tailored to your individual needs. This is true whether you’re an experienced racer or you can’t run more than a mile! She will see to it that you are prepared for success.

Important note: we are only allowed to send 8 people for Team Love True, and there are only a few spaces left! If you are interested, you must fill out the form above ASAP! If you get shut out of the official team, you can still run the race with all the above perks, minus race fee reimbursement.

If you have any questions, send them to Chloe, our coach/team director at chloe@love-true.org. We hope to see you in March! Remember, athletics may be our platform but justice is our fuel and all funds raised from Team Love True go right towards the fund for opening our restoration home for sex trafficking victims. Every mile truly makes a difference.

Below you will find additional information straight from The Baker’s Dozen website:

The Baker's Dozen - a 13.1 mile tour of Montclair!

Artisan breads, pastries & doughnuts will await you at the finish line of this USATF certified half marathon course. All registrants will receive a half-zip, long sleeve tech shirt. Finishers will be awarded commemorative boco gear hats. Special prizes for overall top 3 male & female finishers and top 3 of each per age group.

In lieu of selecting a single charity beneficiary for our race, we want you to pick your favorite! Grab a team of 4 runners, raise $1000 for a charity of your choice & we will waive your entry fees. Your charity will receive every dollar you raise. If you're interested in forming a charity team or you would like more information, contact us at run@montclairbread.com. Space is limited to 25 teams.

Registration opens January 1st, 2017. More info to come.
