Organizations are only as strong as the people supporting and surrounding them. Love True has been strengthened and encouraged by the efforts of our prayer team. Our prayer team takes the needs that rise up in our organization and they pray for those needs to be met. We reached out to our volunteer Prayer Leader, Alice, to talk about her experience leading the prayer team and what her hope is for Love True’s future.
How did you originally find out about human trafficking in the U.S.?
Alice: I think I have known about human trafficking most of my adult life, it wasn't something you would hear about in conversations and I wasn't aware of what it really meant to be trafficked until a couple of years ago.
How long have you been volunteering for Love True?
Alice: I have been volunteering for Love True for almost a year.
In a few words can you describe your experience?
Alice: I have been so privileged to be able to pray for Love True. On a very deep and personal level I have developed a much greater understanding of human trafficking and how Love True has been able to reach so many people through prevention education as well as help those who have been trafficked. I have seen God answer prayer in so many areas of Love True and this has deepened my faith as well as left me in awe of God!
What initially inspired you to volunteer with us?
Alice: When I was asked to consider being the Prayer Leader for Love True.
Do you think your volunteered time has made a positive impact? If so how?
Alice: Yes I do believe my volunteered time has made a positive impact. When the needs of the organization were brought to me I was able to gather with others and pray for these needs to be provided for. God has answered many of the prayers and Love True has been blessed because of it. I have also had opportunity to educate others about human trafficking and how prevalent it is in every area of our society. Through that awareness my hope is that others may be watchful and help to stop it.
As a volunteer of the cause what is your hope for the future of Love True?
Alice: My hope for the future of Love True is to see the prevention education become a mandatory class in every middle and high school, juvenile detention centers as well as being offered to the public.
My hope for the future of Love True is to see a restoration home become available and to be equipped with the people needed to make it a successful transition and healing place.
My hope for the future of Love True is that the organization always has the volunteers needed and the funds to pay for the full time positions as well as every other need.
My hope for the future of Love True is that through the efforts of the organization God blesses it so much that there will no longer be a need for Love True because there will no longer be human trafficking!!
The support that our prayer team has given us is tremendous. If you would like to learn more or be a part of that support system you can reach out to Alice at firstname.lastname@example.org. There will also be a regional prayer meeting hosted by Resting Place House Of Prayer on Saturday, June 17th, for more information you can email Alice. Our volunteers on every level mean the world to us and we love highlighting those that are caring for our team.
